I just had tumescent liposuction on my abdomen, im now 2 weeks post op and I am very sore in some spots. I was curious on how long this soreness will last and if there is any way to reduce this?
Answer: Pain after Liposuction & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen Soreness can be variable and can last for several weeks. Oral neurontin will help. You may also have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Soreness after liposuction? 2 weeks post, how to reduce this? Thank you for your question. Having soreness at this time is normal. It should slowly improve over the next few weeks. In my practice I advise massages, warm soaks and arnica montana to decrease the stiffness and the swelling. All The Best !

Answer: Soreness 2 weeks after liposuction is quite normal but would not prevent your return to work Thank you for your question. Liposuction is usually associated with pain initially but then tenderness and soreness for possibly several weeks post-surgery. Liposuction involves a large surgical area where many structures, including nerves, get “bruised”. As with an external scar, the internal aspect goes through a period of recovery. In my practice, I recommend deep soft tissue massages which helps with the swelling but also with desensitizing the tender areas. Be patient and all should return to normal over a few months. I hope this helps! Kind regards, Dr. Marc DuPéré, aesthetic plastic surgeon

Answer: Soreness post lipsuction Every patient differs however some soreness 2 weeks post op is not alarming. Continue to wear your supportive garment and take it easy on activity. Light walking is usually encouraged but no full work outs yet. You can take Tylenol for pain or your prescribed pain medications. You should see some relief soon!Best regards,

Answer: Soreness 2 weeks after liposuction Having soreness 2 weeks after liposuction is very normal. Be sure to follow your physician's instructions for activity, but generally I have found that movement usually makes patients feel better rather than inactivity. Be sure to discuss everything with your physician, but if allowed, try to progressively become more active and be sure to include gentle stretching. Yoga and Pilates are great ways of incorporating gentle movement into your post-procedure recovery.
