Hi, On day 12 after my FUE transplant i was involved in a minor traffic accident causing me to bump my forehead very hard into the steering-weel. It caused a little bleeding and now on day 20 i notice that some of the follicles that were bleeding is now bald and the ones that still have hair has not grown any longer since the accident what is most likely to have happened? Is the hair lost forever? (The pictures are taken 2 hours after the accident and i sprayed the area with sterile salt water)

Answer: Trauma to the FUE recipient site Since you were 12 days out at the time of the injury, the grafts are likely not significantly disrupted - usually after day 7 they are essentially grafted to the scalp. The density of the red area appears to be similar to the rest of the grafted region, so it doesn't appear that you lost grafts at the time of the accident. Time will tell, whether there is a going to be poor growth secondary to the trauma. At this point, there is not much to do except to wait for full growth. This will take the typical 9 to 12 months. I would follow up with your hair restoration surgeon periodically to document and monitor the growth pattern over the next 12 months.

Answer: Trauma at 12 days From the pictures, it does not look like you lost any grafts. At 12 days with all of the crusts gone, the recipient area should be relatively stable even with blunt trauma
