37yo NW 3-V. I'm OK with my hair short at a #2 or a #3 guard. Anything below a #2 (like a #1, 0, or a head shave) is not comfortable for me at all though. Is it possible to get a FUE transplant for the specific purpose of making a short haircut at #2 or #3 look reasonable (an "even" distribution of short hair throughout, to kind of wear as a short "shadow")? I can't do the 0, #1, or full-shave look, and if I'm leaving hair unshaved, I'd like to avoid the NW5/NW6/NW7 look throughout my lifetime.
Answer: Can you get a FUE hair transplant for the specific purpose of wearing a short haircut? Yes Sir! You can have an FUE from of of the most experienced FUE clinics that uses less than a 1.0mm in diameter punch (we use a 0.9mm) and definitely get a transplant and shave your hair as low as you desire. Many policemen, military and those who like wearing low hair choose FUE. We do these daily.

Answer: Short Hair with FUE It is possible to have a shorter haircut after an FUE hair transplant if you choose a surgeon who is highly skilled and experienced in performing FUE hair transplants and uses SMALL punch tools. At my clinic, I use some of the smallest punch tools (0.7mm-0.8mm) to extract grafts in order to minimize the risk of scarring. I also minimize the depth of punch during extraction to decrease the chances of scarring. Find a hair restoration surgeon who only performs 1 surgery per day so they can take the time a successful transplant demands.

Answer: FUE is not a scarless surgery and if you keep your hair very short you may see the FUE harvest effects (scars). Short hair FUE is not a scarless surgery and if you keep your hair very short you may see the FUE harvest effects (scars). Short hair cuts will not make the transplanted area look as full since hair transplant surgery does not replace all the hairs you have lost.

Answer: You can, but it is up to your Donor Area Hello. The answer is yes, it is possible. The whole coverage will depend on your needs as well as your “donor area”. Once seen by a doctor that specializes in hair, these factors can be determined. It is also very important to consider the size of the punch used to extract and transplant the hair as well as the expertise of your hair transplant surgeon, as your scars will be almost invisible.
