Will sun destroy my new hair follicles 8 weeks post FUE?

Dear doctors, I fly to Thailand soon and will be 8 weeks post my FUE op. Can the sun destroy my new hair follicles? I will wear a white hat to absorb the sun but I'm afraid... What about swimming? Can I swim in the ocean or pool? I would wear a white cap to protect, but can anything happen because of the low access of air for the hair follicles? Thanks!

Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, the 2500-3000 grafts might be good opiton for you, but it would be wrong to say something for sure. You should see a board certified surgeon. You can then plan the process together and discuss the results. I wish you all the best.

You need to contact your doctor as soon as possible for treatment.  Asking for advice on the Internet will only delay treatment.What you have on your scalp is not normal and needs treatment.

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative issue.  On rare occasions, newly transplanted hairs can grow out curly.  It may straighten over time.

Photos cannot diagnose your condition with certainty.  However, it does look very much like Alopecia Areata and that condition is not genetic.

I don't recommend touching your surgery area for about a week after surgery. Touching your head afterwards won't cause permanent damage. But also, you should get contact your doctor first and ask for information.
