What are the consequences/symptoms of radiuses being injected too superficially? After 2 mos I still have lumps near surface and discoloration is areas-still somewhat painful to the touch..?

If a filler is injected too superficially you may experience some lumpy areas, an uneven look in the area of the injection, and possibly some pain and swelling. If you think you may have been injected superficially you should visit your provider for confirmation and too see about possibly having it dissolved. Hope this helps.

Lumps from the injection of Radiesse can be common if the dilution of the substance is not correct.or if placed too superficially in the skin. A cortisone injection or a combination of cortisone and 5 flurouracil can be very helpful in the dissolution of the lump. Physical pressure with a sharp needle tip can also help to break up the nodule. Eventually, it can take over a year, the nodule will disappear.H C Gasiorowski MD

Radiesse must be injected under the skin in just the top layers of the tissue underneath.  If it is injecte superficially it can lead to a foreign body reaction and lumps that may last quite a long time.  To treat the lumps you can have cortisone injected directly into the lumps, but this does not always work
