I would proceed slowly. One syringe of filler placed in the deep layer, then wait 2 weeks and fill the superficial tissues.
I personally have moved away from Radiesse as the results dont last as long as some of the newer fillers. Voluma in particular would cause an elevation that may help you and it would last longer. It would need to be injected deep but be careful as the infraorbital bundle is close to that area. See an experienced injector for that please.
In my experience, such indentations that occur when you smile or move require a deeper injection with a more robust filler like Voluma or Lyft in order to make any appreciable difference. The problem isn’t superficial and doesn’t improve much with a superficial filler.
This "dent" may be a dimple, which is muscle related and not really a dent in the skin. I would suggest using a hyaluronic acid filler like Juvederm or Restylane in the subdermal plane if it is not tethered to muscle. See an experienced physician injector to get the right examination and recommendation. All the Best, Alexis Parker MD
Hi Currently, there are a lot of fillers like Sculptra, Restylane Lyft, Voluma and Revanesse that are worth considering for your concern. Sculptra builds up your collagen and work over time while the hyaluronic filler effects are more immediate. Radiesse may look a little stiff considering that the area is affected when your face is mobile. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
No, this is unlikely to negatively impact your results. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert.
Hi @LisaBelle24. Thank you for sending your photos. Based on your photos, it looks like the filler was placed very superficial. If the swelling does not resolve after a couple of weeks, I recommend dissolving the product with Hyaluronidase. Best of luck to you, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question! Swelling can happen with any type of injection, so you may have swelling after hyaluronidase which may last several days. Also, it can take a series of treatments to fully dissolve filler. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon....
Hi @AxlRose22. Gently massaging the area should be okay to help resolve the lump, but I would advise against an aggressive massage since this can create more swelling and will prolong healing time. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thanks for your question and photo. In this particular region under the eyes, prolonged longevity of Restylane is quite common. So is hyaluronidase to take some filler away after all those years. Do not wait for it to go away, because that would leave you unhappy too long.
Dark circles under your eyes are a common problem and you'll be happy to know that techniques for correcting this problem have improved tremendously in the last few years. The cannula technique is the best way to fill in the dark circle while minimizing the risk of bruising. Consulting with...
