Burning sensations are common after lipo especially of the flanks and back. They are mostly from muscle irritation and improve with massage, analgesics and sports cream for muscle aches. They will resolve over time.
hello hayathboura Discomfort is usually based on the extent to which the location and number of areas treated. Most swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. You should visit or contact your plastic surgeon about this concern. #post-op #burn
Hello Hayatbouya, I appreciate your questions! After VASER liposuction with fat transfer to the buttocks (Brazilian Butt Lift), pain and soreness may occur and should be relieved with analgesics. These pain medications are usually prescribed by plastic surgeons to help with general discomfort. Similarly, feelings of burning, and tightness are common occurrence during the healing process, but will decrease with each passing day. Your body may look swollen for months, but after 6 months you might appreciate your new and amazingly contoured figure. I would recommend you wearing specialized compression garments for 6 months and getting lymphatic drainage massages in order to completely alleviate the swelling and discomfort. Contact your surgeon promptly if you notice an increase in swelling, pain, redness, drainage, or bleeding in the surgical area, or if you develop fever (above 100.4 F), dizziness, nausea, or vomiting. Hope this is helpful! Dr. De La Cruz.
Thank you for your question. In general, I tell all my liposuction patients (whether VASER or other) to anticipate a deep, "achey" type of pain as soon as the numbing solution wears off. This is usually worse for the first 24-48 hours and then it should begin to improve dramatically over the next few days and weeks. So, if this burning pain you describe is something new or has been worsening, I would recommend getting in touch with your surgeon's office soon. On the other hand, at 11 days out from surgery, the inflammatory response is most likely at its peak and the treated areas may feel hard and rubbery. Self massage can help with improving blood flow through the treated areas and I recommend to my patients that they begin this within the first week of treatment - as soon as they can tolerate it. If the skin of the area is also turning red, that could be a sign of infection. Although infections are quite rare, they are possible. Again, if this is the case, then a trip to your surgeon's office would be in order.
Hello hayatbouya,With VASER, swelling and bruising can last for up to 6-8 weeks. However, the amount of discomfort experienced will depend on the number of areas treated and the treatment locations. If you are concerned, I would recommend contacting your doctor to discuss this matter. Best of luck.
