The abdominal procedure you had would not cause vaginal bleeding. However, surgery is stress and may interupt  normal menstral cycles. Since you have not had a period in over a year, you may have another issue that needs to be addressed. I recommend you see your gynecologist as soon as you can get an appointment. Women in menopause may have periodic bleeding, but there could also be several other reasons as well.

There is no anatomic connection between what is done in a tummy tuck and vaginal bleeding. You should see your GYN for further evaluation for such bleeding after surgery.
 

No, in your case, vaginal bleeding  would not be considered “normal” after surgery. Sometimes, patients will have drainage ( for example around the drain tubes) that they mistake for vaginal bleeding.  If you indeed do have new onset of bleeding, best to see your GYN for examination.
