I am trying to decide if I should get a non surgical nose job or just bite the bullet and have a rhinoplasty. If I have to keep getting the non surgical nose job re-done every few months, I don't think it would be worth it because I'd end up paying just as much as I would for a rhinoplasty over time.
Does anyone know how long the results last for a non surgical nose job? Also, what if I don't like the results...can they be reversed?
Thanks.
Answer: Non-surgical rhinoplasty duration of effect Non-surgical rhinoplasty is often performed by the use of hyaluronic acid family of fillers, such as Resylane and Juvederm. The advantages include a fairly predictable duration of almost one year and the option to dissolve the filler in case of unwanted outcomes. A major distinction to be brought up to the attention of rejuvenation enthusiastic patients is about the role fillers can play in addressing facial aging (face, eyelid bag treatment) versus the nose. To elaborate more, nose does not lose much volume with aging and its skin and soft tissue has a natural variation of thickness in different parts. Thus, the way adding volume to the cheeks and eyelid grooves can improve the drooping and wasting changes accompanied by aging, that concept does not apply to the nasal aesthetics which are minimally altered due to the aging process. In fact, generous application of fillers to the nose (at least in most ethnicities) alters the natural thickness variation of the skin and soft tissue of this delicate structure to a point that can be noticeable to even non-professional observers. This may often create un-naturraly homogenous contour, which contrasts with subtle contour changes displayed by aesthetically pleasing nasal profiles. When it comes to cost issues, knowing that the procedure needs to be repeated almost annually with the current state of cosmetic fillers, the math can be more simple in favor of the surgical treatment, however, much easier recovery and minimal down time of non-surgical nose can still to be quite attractive for the right candidates.

Answer: Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Great questions! The answer to the first part depends on the type and degree of changes you are looking to make in the shape of your nose. Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be a great option to make changes to straighten the appearance of a rounded nasal hump and to refine the shape and rotation of the nasal tip (how droopy the tip looks). The effects usually last from 9-12 months depending on how quickly your body breaks down the filler. The recovery process and downtime for non-surgical rhinoplasty is minimal, and the finished result is much quicker than with surgery. There is reduced swelling in this area that resolves in days to weeks as opposed to months. You can sleep however you want. You can resume normal activities, although the only restriction, which is more of a recommendation, is to avoid going to the gym for 24-48 hours just to minimize swelling and bruising. You’d be able to wear glasses. You would also be able to get a surgical rhinoplasty in the future. Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be a great way to trial the results of a change to your nose before undergoing a more permanent solution through surgery. One of the great advantages of HA fillers is the expected reversibility through the injection of reversal agents if you are unhappy with the results. If you do decide to move forward with non-surgical rhinoplasty, I strongly urge you to be diligent in choosing an experienced and board-certified medical provider. This area of the face is highly vascularized which means it’s important that the experienced injector you choose is an expert with working in the face: they must know the anatomy like the back of their hand.

Answer: Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Hello, and thank you for your question! There are several things to consider when determining whether you should pursue a surgical vs. non-surgical rhinoplasty. Certain characteristics allow for good and sometimes great results with a non-surgical rhinoplasty. Such characteristics are a deep radix with a protuberant bony and cartilaginous dorsal hump. On occasion, an under projected nose can be augmented as well. I can understand how this may be confusing as social media sites such as Instagram don't often explain the nuances involved such as who is a candidate and what the expectations should be. I have found that by using HA based fillers that my results can last up to two years with an average being around 12-16 months. Of course, a non-surgical rhinoplasty involves placing fillers in the nose. By adding filler, this means that your nose will not get smaller but can add more balance specifically to your side profile. Of course, if you use a HA based filler, the results can be reversed. A non-surgical rhinoplasty is a tricky area to fill and in my opinion should only be done by those who have extensive surgical experience in the area being treated.

Answer: How long does a non-surgical nose job last? A non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose job) is a quick 5 minute in office procedure which is performed with fillers to improve the appearance of the nose. I typically improve bumps on the bridge of the nose, make the bridge look more straight and narrow, refine the tip and turn the tip up a bit. The length of the result depends on which type of filler is utilized. Most surgeons, including myself, use hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers such a Juvederm, Restylane or Voluma. The duration of each of this fillers is longer in the nose than those typically quoted, as it does not move as much as other parts of the face. Juvederm and Restylane-L typically last 9-12 months in the nose and Restylane Lyft and Voluma can last 1-2 years. I have noticed that on occasion, less is needed over time and in some minor cases only a few times of injections caused a permanent change, perhaps by stimulation a bit of scar tissue to fill in the area. A nice feature of the HA fillers is that there is a reversal agent that will reverse the filler right then and there if you are unhappy with the results (have never had to do this, but it is nice to know that it can be done). Some will use Radiesse, which is considered semi-permanent filler. One issue with Radiesse is that there have been some reports of granulaoma formation (infammatory response) and it can make surgical rhinoplasty a bit more difficult in the future. For these reasons, I prefer the HA fillers and will use Lyft or Voluma if there is enough soft tissue coverage for a longer lasting result. Seek consultation with a board-certified rhinoplasty expert for an in person consultation for an examination and discussion of your surgical and non-surgical options. I hope this helps and best wishes.

Answer: Non-surgical nose job duration In many cases, non-surgical nose jobs will last 18 months or more, depending on the patient and the product that is injected. I tell patients that the average is about one year before patients decide to come back for another procedure. The product slowly fades over time. I do not use "permanent" filler products like silicone, Bellafill, Artefill, etc due to the risks associated with these products. In addition, if there is any problem or the patient is unhappy with the results, there is no way to reverse the injections. I always recommend using hyaluronic acid-based products as these offer reliable, safe, and natural-appearing results. A non-surgical nose job can be a highly effective and gratifying procedure, but patients who desire permanent changes to the shape of the nose should consider rhinoplasty surgery. Be sure to see a physician who is an expert in both rhinoplasty and non-surgical nose jobs in order to review all of the options in detail as a non-surgical nose job is not a procedure to be performed by a novice injector. All the best,

Answer: Non surgical Nose Job Using safe reversible hyaluronic acid based fillers like Juvederm, a doctor can contour a nose to hide asymmetries or mask bumps when they are subtle and/or if the patient cannot undergo surgery or desires not to. This procedure takes less than 10 minutes and results last 1-3 years. No downtime after the procedure.
