I’m a 37 year old female who has breastfed 2 children. There has always been a distinct asymmetry with my breasts but as I’ve been on a weight loss/fitness journey it’s feeling more pronounced. I know you should typically be at your goal weight for cosmetic procedures but this is effecting me, day to day. My question, what would be the most cost effective correction here? I wear a 36 D and my left breast has room and my right breast overflows.

Answer: Surgery for correction of breast asymmetry I would suggest a breast reduction. That way more tissue can be removed from your right breast than your left breast to get you as close to symmetrical as possible. You have to be cognizant of the fact your right breast is much wider than your left breast so while we can get your breasts to match in terms of the volume the shape will always be a little different between the two breasts as we cannot narrow the breasts. A breast reduction includes a lift so not only will your breasts be much closer in size the areolae will be smaller, the nipples will be in a much higher position and the overall shape of your breasts will be better and your breast will no longer be on your upper abdomen. It looks as if you have some axillary breast tissue as well which is that fullness towards the armpit. Usually a lot of that breast tissue can be removed at the same time as a breast reduction but occasionally it requires a separate incision in the armpit to remove this tissue.

Answer: Breasts It depends upon which size you prefer as to what can be done. I would suggest a small reduction for the larger breast and a lift for the smaller breast and liposuction to remove excess axillary fat. If you prefer the larger breast size, then lift the larger breast and lift and add an implant to the smaller.

Answer: Combination of breast procedures can improve symmetry Shape and size asymmetry can be corrected with a combination of cosmetic breast procedures. These may include a breast lift to correct sagging in both breasts, and reduction of the larger breast to match the size of the smaller one. An implant may also be placed in the smaller breast to match the size of the larger one.

Answer: Severe asymmetry Dear Rational570989, based on your photo, it looks like you have significant asymmetry. You will most likely benefit from lift and reduction of larger breast. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
