Invisalign with a crown on upper canine? (Photo)

Hi, in my opinion Invisalign is the best form of braces with heavily restored teeth or teeth with crowns and veneers. Even though your lower teeth might look alright on this photo, it will be difficult to assess the real situation here. Its best to discuss with someone who can do some photos , do a full assessment of bite and then decide the best treatment for you.

Invisalign works well over existing crowns and fillings. We usually use plastic buttons called attachments over teeth - natural and crowned teeth to get better control with tooth movement. Crowned teeth can get attachments too. To fix the overbite you will need Invisalign treatment not only on the upper teeth but also on the lowers. This will be helpful with fixing the bite and not only the position of the teeth.

 Invisalign treatment works well with Crowns. In fact, better to do Invisalign with crowns than try to do metal brackets, bands, and wires with crowns.Your bottom teeth may be in great shape, but to treat the vertical and horizontal overlaps, most likely will involve both the upper and lower teeth.Consult with a dental provider that does adult Invisalign.

Crowns are basically a fake outer-covering of a tooth. The tooth itself still has a normal root and moves like a normal tooth. Your canine tooth will have no problem moving in an aligners or with traditional braces. 35% of my patients are adults and 80% of them have at least one crown.
