It will take some time for your gums to heal and fill in. Because it has only been two weeks, I would give it a at least a month or even six weeks to completely heal. If the gap is still there, contact your dentist. Good luck!
Porcelain veneers would be a wonderful option as they can literally change the shape and color of the tooth. However, veneers are permanent, and if you want minimal damage, you may want to consider other options. Lumineers® are thinner than conventional porcelain veneers and require very little enamel removal. Another option to consider is cosmetic dental bonding, or same day dentistry with CEREC® Schedule an appointment with a cosmetic dentist who is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and make sure you discuss what you do and don't like about your smile. Bring a picture along to show your dentist what you would like your new smile to look like. Good luck!
If you aren’t happy, schedule an appointment with your dentist. A good cosmetic dentist will address your concerns and come up with a plan. If he or she believes that your veneers can be reshaped, by all means, get it done. If you are still unsatisfied with the results, your porcelain veneers may need to be removed and replaced. Good luck with your smile and thank-you for the detailed pictures.
Quite frankly, I would not. I understand that whitening with charcoal is all the rage on Social Media, but you would be better off with professional tooth whitening, especially with braces as the charcoal could become stuck under the brackets causing staining, the one thing that you are trying to get rid of in the first place! Professional chairside tooth whitening, which takes place in the dentists office and can lighten teeth in a single dental visit, is safe and effective. A good cosmetic dentist can also custom make bleaching trays that you take home and wear at night. With take home trays, you can see results in two to four weeks. Skip the charcoal and head to the dentists office if you want a brighter smile. Good luck!
Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent, but using a medical grade solution, more than 3% won't do you or your teeth much good. Your teeth will whiten over time, but it could take months, or even years, before they will get brighter. Your best defense against stained and discolored teeth is a professional tooth whitening appointment. Our practice uses a few different professional tooth whitening procedures including Zoom!, which is a chairside whitening treatment that will give you whiter teeth in a single dental appointment. Good luck with your professional tooth whitening treatment!
