I did cervic cancer screening with a speculum and after I noticed I was bleeding. Can my hymen be fixed?

I’m 25 years old, 5’7 height, slim and fair in complexion.After the test I checked my vagina with a mirror and saw something like a cut at the lower and side of the vagina. Have never had sex before, can the hymen be stitch back and if not, will I still have that vagina tightness during my first sex and will I still bleed during penetration. What do you advice me to do and is there a medication to fix the hymen back. I await your response. Thanks

Hello, we can only understand clearly whether the hymen is ruptured or not after an examination. Unfortunately, there is no drug treatment to recreate the hymen. If necessary, the hymen is reconstructed with stitching.

there is a procedure called hymenoplasty in which the edges of the hymen can be approximated and possibly when you become sexually active you will bleed.

One speculum exam will not dilate your vagina or prevent you from feeling the discomfort of becoming sexually active.

Unfortunately, there is no medication to help regrow your hymen. However, there are surgical options that may help depending on the degree of tear of your hymen. However you may or may not still bleed after intercourse tor the first time. Tightness should not be affected in any way by your speculum exam. If your hymen is broken, it can be repaired. If it is repaired, there is no guarantee that it will bleed when you have sex for the first time after the repair. There is no medication that repairs broken hymens. I recommend that you see a gynecologist for an exam to check the integrity of the hymen.

Many people who have a Pap smear notice light bleeding, or spotting, for a couple of days after the test. In most cases, this is not a cause for concern, and it usually goes away without intervention. This symptom may occur because the Pap smear can irritate the blood vessels of the cervix, which causes light bleeding. It is VERY rare that your hymen was torn during this procedure. I suggest you call the provider that did the cervical screening and request an examination. A Hymenoplasty is not needed and there is no medication to address your concern.

The hymen may be torn. These tears heal quickly and will not cause any scarring or narrowing during your first sexual experience in the future. Hymen can be repaired permanently or temporarily with two types of stitching methods. Unfortunately, there is no option such as drug treatment. It is repaired by suture technique.
