Fat grafting survival after infection and bleeding. Any experience?

I am 40. 2 months ago I had a facelift and just before surgery the doctor suggested fat grafting to the periorbital area, to which I said yes, the biggest mistake of my life, as my face now is overfilled. 1st week after facelift I developed infection at both surgical sites (ears) and in the 2nd week sudden bleeding ending up in hospital for a 2nd surgery. It was a terrible experience! My question is if the survival of fat was negatively affected as this is my only hope it will be reabsorbed soon

Thank you for your question. It takes up to a year before you can see the final results of your surgery, especially when it comes to facial procedures. At 2 months there's bound to be some remnant swelling and puffiness, but this will subside with time. Since fat is naturally burned by the body, you can expect to see it go down. If this continues to be a concern, I suggest following up with your surgeon to determine what their recommendations are.
