My gyno was mild just a hard puffy nipple on one side. after surgery the size looked better. 2 weeks later i found a stitch on the side of the nipple they forgot to take out. the nipple was still a bit puffy. i couldn't rip the stitch out but when i pulled on it a yellow orange color fluid poured out. A lot came rapidly dripping out of the small hole. And now the nipple has completely shrunk and is smaller then the normal one. its a bit inverted. It was too big now its too small. is this bad?
Answer: Gynecomastia Dear Bull123, Thank you for your clinical post. It does appear that your gynecomastia surgery resulted in a fluid collection under the soft tissue that have been elevated. This post-operative complication is called a seroma. It does appear the seroma did evacuate when you manipulated the suture and this left the nipple areolar complex looking collapsed. At this time it would be very important to visit your operating surgeon as they are in the best position to understand both the procedure that was performed and the best post-operative care to manage it. Usually seromas result in early irregularity and an unattractive appearance, but over time with proper non-surgical techniques such as ultrasound treatments or bulk heating radio frequency treatments the contour improves immensely and you can expect to get a nice improvement. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. For more information, please review the link below. R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto
