How long does it take for kenalog shots to take effect? (Photos)

Scar tissue and Kenalog injections - 6 months post op. Hello, I’ve been getting kenalog injections in my nose to help a specific spot on my nose that seems to be scar tissue. I'm about 6 months post op rhinoplasty and i haven’t noticed any changes on that specific area and my nose still looks a little bulbous. I’ve gotten 3 kenalog shots with another coming up in just two weeks. How long does it take for kenalog shots to take effect? I feel like this issue should’ve subsided now with 3 injections and it hasn’t. i’m worried i’ll need a revision.

The procedure you describe is necessary from time to time particularly for a condition called rhinophyma. The time it takes to heal depend on how deep the skin is scraped. Anticipate a week to ten days to heal but it will be red for several weeks after that

In general it is better to do the nose surgery first so that any affect that the nose surgery has on lip aesthetics (and it typically will have an affect) is considered before proceeding with any lip procedures.

Hi @ECM012987. If your nose did not bleed internally, you probably didn't fracture it then. What your are noticing is swelling of the lining of your nasal bone. I recommend that you ice the area. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Sorry to hear about the issues you have had after using ear cartilage as graft. Migraines are not a common symptom to experience after rhinoplasty, especially one year out. I recommend seeing your doctor to evaluate you and help figure out the cause of your migraines.
