I had a blue vein cauterized under my eye resulting in the vein coiling up in one lumpy place. When will it heal & flatten out?

Hello formyboysjm, thank you for your questions. It appears from your
history and without seeing photos that you are healing up as expected. I would
suggest cold compresses. Do not use warm or hot compresses because this will
dilate the veins. I would also suggest gentle massage to help break up some of
the scar tissues. As the tissue breaks down, bruising may appear. It may take
6-8 weeks for the bruising to disappear. Frequent follow ups with your surgeon
are important.

Thank you for your question. The problem with treating under eye bveins is the vein residue. If you close it, it is still there, and needs to be absorbed. It can take 6mo. To a year to resolve. Just be patient, and be sure you want to treat veins as healing time can be extended. I hope this helps!

It seems from your description that the vein was thermocaogulated with VeinGogh technique or electrocautery. It has since thrombosed and the healing process will take a while and there is likelihood of hyperpigmentation which can be improved with the use of topical VenaQuin or VenoLucent creams.Also, avoid exposure to sun and use sunscreen.Be patient. 

Wet warm compresses and time are usually the best treatments.  It could take several months for this to resolve as the clotted vein dissolves.  Fortunately, most of these treated veins improve within 3 to 4 weeks.

The vessels are probably coagulated.  Not knowing the technique or the the amount of energy use, I really cannot tell you for sure.  You need to call your surgeon and she what he/she recommends.
