About the tip dropping: it's hard to place a tip just exactly in the right spot. The natural history of healing is that the tip does come down, so the surgeon often places the tip higher than ideal and tries to secure it well in that position. If the tip is a *long* way from your ideal, well, then maybe you and the surgeon had different things in mind? The swelling is hard to control, and it's unpredictable how long someone waits until nearly all the swelling goes away, but 10 months is a long time. If you have a revision, it's important to get the tip well up, so you don't have it drop too far in the second operation. Most people who have the tip elevated agree that, if it's not possible to plan exactly the final position of the tip, they'd rather have the nose be a little too short than a little too long.
