I had Voluma injected into my cheeks last Friday and was slightly sore for a day or two and then began to have jaw pain in my Tmj. Not really swollen but painful And today I noticed some slight bruising mid cheek. Will this jaw pain subside untreated? I phoned my dr and told them I giggled it and felt I should be checked but the receptionist sort of giggled and said the dr was double booked and come by on Friday.
Answer: Jaw Pain After Voulma Injections This is likely due to the needle hitting the bone. This is why i use cannulas for the majority of my inejctions, to limit pain swelling and complications. This will resolve, if you are worried speak to your physician. Next time see an expert injector. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Jaw Pain After Voluma Cheek Injection Hi Vicki,It is unusual for patients to experience jaw pain one week after Voluma cheek injections. Definitely see your physician tomorrow if you pain continues. Most likely nothing and due to a deep hematoma (bruise), but always better to safe than sorry. Good luck and be well.Best,Dr. P

Answer: Jaw Pain and Bruising After Voluma Hi Vicki. I do a lot of Voluma injections and I have never had a single patient develop bruising or complain of jaw pain after the procedure. Although bruising can occur with any needle based treatment, the jaw pain after Voluma is odd. I would definitely try and get in to see your injecting physician as soon as possible. Best of luck.

Answer: Pain after Voluma injection This is not a common side effect you should contact your surgeon to discuss. Voluma is an ideal treatment for enhancement of the mid face. It works beautifully to correct malar fat descension and aging of the mid face. In some case it is been shown to last up to 2 years. It is not FDA approved for any other location other than mid face. It is a deep injection just off the bone and requires expertise in injecting. I would recommend you discuss your issue with a board certified dermatologist.

Answer: Pay Attention to Pain I have used lots of Voluma and don't see pain a week after a procedure. You should get to see your physician as soon as you can.You probably just have a deep bruise, however, pain a week after Voluma is something that should not be ignored...actually pain of any type is your body giving you a message. Don't ignore it.See your physician.
