My right eye is more sunken in than my left. Actually the more I look at it it seems the entire right side of my face is more sunken in. It's been causing a lot of pain on my jaw as well. I'm not sure what to do.
Answer: Facial asymmetry The most noticeable part of the asymmetry around the eyes seems to be due to the expression. Although for people around you this is probably a feature they see as nice, if it bothers you it is possible to use a small amount of botulinum toxin type A to the forehead and decrease the amount that your higher eyebrow is raising. For assessment of facial asymmetry, photographs with the face relaxed are better since smiling gathers the tissue around the cheek mound and changes the contours. It is unlikely that your facial asymmetry is outside the normal range and everybody has one cheekbone slightly flatter than the other and one eye slightly more sunken than the other. You just need to examine their features carefully. This is usually noticed better in photographs than in the mirror. The pain in the temporomandibular joint should be assessed either by your dentist, a maxillofacial specialist or an ENT specialist. Sometimes there is no underlying mechanical problem and a pain specialist becomes the most likely person to help you.

Answer: Asymmetry Thank you for your question and your photo!Best to have a chat with a discussion and physical examination regarding your question. At this stage you wouldn't be a candidate for surgery. Typically, eyelid surgery addresses loose and lax skin, which doesn't seem to be the issue you have. Droopy upper eyelids and bags under the lower eyelids can give us a worn and tired appearance. Blepharoplasty, also called eyelid surgery, helps women and men with excess eyelid skin, remove or reposition fat, to give the eyes a more youthful, refreshed look. Some people have eyelid surgery to correct problems that are as a result of ageing, while others have inherited traits such as under eye bags that cause them to seek treatment in their 20s or 30s. You would be a good candidate for facial filler around the areas to balance everything out nicely. Good luck!

Answer: How do I fix my asymmetrical eyes and my sunken face? It would be difficult to give an assessment based on the photos you provided. Different angles can change the actual appearance of the face. It is also imperative to know that there is no such thing as perfect asymmetry in the body. We all have asymmetry to some degree and many times there is no need for surgery to reduce these asymmetries. However, if you are interested in plastic surgery, the best course of action would be to schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination and a detailed discussion of your surgical options.

Answer: Eye/Facial Asymmetry Just from this one smiling picture all that can be determined is that your right eye is lower than that if the left. To better assess your soft tissue asymmetry a non-smiling frontal picture is needed and ultimately a 3D CT scan to look at the underlying bone structures and to see how that matches up with what is seen in the outside. From this information then it can be determined what may be able to be done for improvement.
