Thanks for bringing this up! I perform fat grafting and have actually never heard of that system so I looked it up. It looks similar to the BRAVA. I tend to use a small implant for baseline volume than add 100-150cc of fat on top to create a custom look that the patient wants (feather transition zone of the implant, cleavage etc) but if you are destined to try pre-expansion I am sure either system would be fine
Thank you for your interesting question. I have only used the Brava system in the past in my patients undergoing autologous fat transfer to the breasts. The system you are referring to seems to be similar except for the fact that it uses a hand pump as opposed to an automatic battery operated pump. I would think that it would work just as well so as long as you commit to using it before and after the operation. I offer this to patients that have minimal donor site and wish to be more than one cup size larger. Occasionally, the option of storing your fat for second injection session is more appealing to patients that have adequate volume.
can be facilitated by using suction devices such as what you describe. Understand you are not anticipated to get much more than a cup increase in size and you don't get as perky as you do with implants. I always recommend that when procedures are used that have iffy success rates, that you always know your doctor's revision policy and better, have an agreement that if a certain goal is not achieved, something is worked out to your benefit.
The average amount of fat transferred into each breast in one session is between 300 and 400 cc. Sometimes it's less and rarely it's more. Ultimately, the amount of room available dictates the transferred volume. If the breasts are small and the skin is tight, then less can be placed. If the...
Thank you for your question! There is no limit to the amount if times fat grafting can be performed. It is not uncommon to require serial injections to achieve the desired result, as some fat does not survive and you have to await swelling to subside and the fat to settle to see results....
The limitations with fat transfer to the breast are not only the available fat to transfer from your abdomen and hips but the ability to place the fat in tissue with a good blood supply. If too much fat is grafted, the fat will not be close to tissue with good blood supply and it will die,...
There is another possibility that you should consider: using Sculptra in the areas that need some fill or contour correction, since fat transfer might not be an option. Best to speak with a plastic surgeon in your area who is familiar with body contouring revisions. All the best,
You can have fat transferred to your breasts even if you have breast implants. I would not recommend that for an aesthetic client. I do perform that service for my reconstructive clients.Earl Stephenson, Jr, MD, DDS, FACS
