It puts alot of strain on my neck shoulders and back. looking to get a breast lift. what should i do? and will my insurance pay for it
Answer: Breast lift Thank you for the question. A breast lift and/or reduction may be appropriate for you. The first question you would need to answer during your consultation is do you want your size to be smaller, larger or the same. This would determine if you would be a candidate for a lift, lift with an implant or breast reduction. This would all occur during your consultation. Hope this helps you.

Answer: Breast reduction for breast that sag Patients with "sagging" breast may benefit from a breast lift (reshaping of the breast to a more youthful shape and position. However, if the patient do have in addition large amounts of breast tissue, they will benefit from a breast reduction (a procedure that decreases the size of the breast, while lifting them at the same time). Insurance may cover ONLY a breast reduction when the surgeon is able to resect more than 500gm per preset (approximately 1 pound per breast). Patients interested in breast surgery (either lift or reduction) should make a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specialized in breast lift /reduction

Answer: Correction of heavy, sagging breasts. Are you looking to decrease the size of your breasts or simply lift the nipple and improve the contour? You mentioned that they are not very full but they are heavy so it is unclear if you are looking for decreased breast volume.

Answer: Breast size and postion Thanks for your question. Photos aid in answering your questions more accurately. That being said, your insurance company will only cover your breast reduction (which also includes a lift with the reduction) if all of their criteria are met. In a majority of cases, the breasts must be quite large and the amount of breast tissue removed must be equally large. If you do not have very large breasts or ones that have a preponderence of glandular heavy tissue, then a breast lift is inicated (which is not covered by insurance).Best of luck.Dr. T
