Thank you for the question. A breast lift and/or reduction may be appropriate for you. The first question you would need to answer during your consultation is do you want your size to be smaller, larger or the same. This would determine if you would be a candidate for a lift, lift with an implant or breast reduction. This would all occur during your consultation. Hope this helps you.
I did not see your pictures, but you describe with accuracy the pendulous breasts: those resemble a pendulum or a pouch of bottom piled stones, with empty upper and central areas of the breasts; this is treated with McKissock mammaplasty and breast implants at the same time, strongly recommended anatomical shaped, cohesive gel-filled and highly adherent implants (to avoid luxation or bottoming out), the most adherent are macrotextured and the top the polyurethane coated implants (if available).
Patients with "sagging" breast may benefit from a breast lift (reshaping of the breast to a more youthful shape and position. However, if the patient do have in addition large amounts of breast tissue, they will benefit from a breast reduction (a procedure that decreases the size of the breast, while lifting them at the same time). Insurance may cover ONLY a breast reduction when the surgeon is able to resect more than 500gm per preset (approximately 1 pound per breast). Patients interested in breast surgery (either lift or reduction) should make a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specialized in breast lift /reduction
Are you looking to decrease the size of your breasts or simply lift the nipple and improve the contour? You mentioned that they are not very full but they are heavy so it is unclear if you are looking for decreased breast volume.
A breast reduction actually also lifts and since it is often used to reduce back and neck pain as well as other medical problems associated with having heavy breasts, it is considered a reconstructive surgery and is often covered by insurance.Be sure to speak with a board certified plastic surgeon who can discuss your specifics, including possible insurance coverage.Best wishes!
Thank you for your question. Like other doctors have mentioned, you have to consider what your goals are in order to determine the best treatment. If they are not very full and you desire fullness, especially near the upper pole, you may need a small implant to help restore volume in addition to a reduction/lift. Many insurances do cover breast reduction surgery if you are in pain, but your insurance would have to be contacted to find out specifics. I recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in this field in order to get the best advice.
Photos and more info (height, weight, bra size) would help respond. It sounds like you may be thinking more of a breast reduction (which does incorporate a lift). A consultation with a plastic surgeon can help sort out options, pros and cons. All the best.
Hello. Thanks for your question. It sounds like you would benefit from a breast reduction procedure. The surgery will relieve the stress that your heavy breasts impose on your back. A BBR procedure will also lift your breasts to a more youthful position and improve you're posture. For insurance to partially pay for this procedure, you need to look for plastic surgeons who participate in your plan otherwise you will incurr all of the out-of-network costs. Good luck. Dr. Burnett
Thanks for your question. Photos aid in answering your questions more accurately. That being said, your insurance company will only cover your breast reduction (which also includes a lift with the reduction) if all of their criteria are met. In a majority of cases, the breasts must be quite large and the amount of breast tissue removed must be equally large. If you do not have very large breasts or ones that have a preponderence of glandular heavy tissue, then a breast lift is inicated (which is not covered by insurance).Best of luck.Dr. T
If you are looking for a breast reduction. insurance may help you cover this, but you have to check with them for their criteria for coverage. A lift alone will not be covered.
Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed. In my opinion you should contact your doctor and searching better results. I wish you all the best.
A vertical lift will have a lollipop shaped scar and the standard lift will leave the anchor shaped scar. The difference is the incision in the infra mammary fold.I recommend sub pectoral placement of a silicone implant for most patients. Especially if the tissue is thin. The type of lift...
I do not recommend price shopping when it comes to surgery. The most important - is finding the most qualified, and experienced Surgeon to do the job. Prices will vary from Practice to Practice, experience of a Surgeon, etc.
