Old FUT scar hurts after new FUE - I am 1 week post my FUE.

Question

Hey, I had a FUT 5 years ago. The pain after my FUE is still here, specially in the area of the old FUT scarf. Is there any explanantion for it? The skin is different? All in all the donor area looks great, but the pain in the FUT scarf area is still there and it is not easy to sleep. Thanks!

If you are having post operative issues, it is best to contact your doctor for a follow up examination.

Usually pain in the FUE harvest area is minimal, but I have on occasion seen people who have significant pain that starts a few days after surgery.  Typically it responds to non-steroidal inflammatory medication (such as ibuprofen) taken around the clock, and resolves in a week or so.  I agree that contacting your surgeon, who may know important specific details about your case, is wise at this point.

Well there is new trauma to the area in  ms of having a procedure. You are only one week out. Scars in general tend to be more sensitive however give it more time then contact your clinic. And you may want to consider a revision if pain persists.
