I am now at month 2 post fue. I noticed a few weeks ago that my recipent area was becoming tender, pimples and redness started forming my DR prescribed a (Z pack) Azithromycin 250 mg for 5 days. I finished the prescription and it seemed better but a few days later it seemed to come back. I was prescribed another round of Azithromycin. I plan on seeing a dermatologist on Monday. Did i damage my grafts?

Answer: Folliculitis after hair transplant This sounds like folliculitis which is usually self limiting however in some cases one may need antibiotics or if the "pimple" is big enough it may need to get drained. Folliculitis may be seen days or even months after a hair transplant. The simple folliculitis usually does not affect growth of the transplanted hair. You didn't mention that you actually went in to see the hair transplant surgeon. You may want to do this especially if it is not resolving.

Cultures are a good option to ensure you are on the appropriate antibiotic. This usually resolves but may need a few courses of antibiotics. Answer: Folliculitus after hair transplant Pimples are part of procedure around 2 months onwards after hair trasnplant. apply topical Fusidic acid+betamethsasone twice a day over pimples and you can take Azithromycin 250 mg one on alternate day for 4 to 6 weeks..

Answer: Infection after FUE What you are telling me is the right approach. You should have cultures taken of the infected area to be sure that the antibiotic is the correct one
