How early does Accutane cause birth defects?

Ive been taking accutane for 4 weeks and im 3 weeks pregnant. Will my baby have birth defects?

No one should have prescribed you Accutane if there was a chance you were pregnant or you were trying to become pregnant. Accutane is a black label medication and you need to be on TWO forms of birth control to prevent pregnancy. There is no research on when the developmental deformities take place. So I'm sorry, but pregnancy and Accutane do not mix and you need to talk to your physicians about how to proceed. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
