Seeing yellow in stitch area. Is this normal? (Photo)

Hello,A small amount of yellow or bloody discharge is not uncommon after a breast lift or reduction.  It usually resolves in a few days and will be checked by your surgeon in the early post-operative period.  If the drainage increases, turns green or opaque  and  is accommodated by pain and redness of the skin, it could signal infection.  Follow-up with your surgeon to ensure the discharge is not threatening.Warm regards,Dr. Pedy Ganchi                                                                                                                                               Village Plastic Surgery

Based on your photos and history, it sounds like you may have a little fibrinous exudate (human glue) on the gauze and this is not all that surprising after a breast lift/augmentation at 1 week postop. If it continues then I would call your PS to let him/her know but I think you look like you are doing fine at this point. Best wishes. 

It has only been a week since your surgery, so a small amount of discharge is normal. It is important that you keep your surgeon aware of your healing process to ensure the best result and safety. Follow-up with your surgeons office to let them know what is going on and the details of the discharge to see if it may be abnormal.

It is not unusual to see a small amount of spotty drainage a week after surgery. Yellow drainage can be normal. Green drainage could signal an infection. Call your surgeon and discuss your concerns with them. 

Some mild drainage is not uncommon  during the early post-op period.   If you are concerned review this with your surgeon.
