Is this weird feeling two days after Ultherapy (full face and neck) a side effect?

Question

One day after the procedure, I had some tenderness to the touch in a jaw area that is better today. No bruising or swelling. Yesterday afternoon though I started to have a weird feeling, and it's spreading to more areas today. If I scratch my forehead in a specific place I feel a weird sensation at the top of my head, as if I feel the nerve. Today I also have it in my jaw area, if I move a skin in one place I feel it in another. Is it the "tingling" feeling that is described as a side effect?

It’s normal to experience tingling and tenderness after Ultherapy. This is temporary and will go away over the next few days to a week. If you’re concerned, please contact your doctor.

What your experiencing seems normal following full face and neck Ultherapy. If you have questions however you should call your physician office and check in. I would assume you have the information from your provider. Remember the first week after not to take motrin or aleve which I'm sure they told you.

Yes this wierd sensation and tingling is a normal response and can take weeks to go away. There may be an ache or some strange "crawling" sensation too on the forehead. Entirely normal as part of the inflammatory and collagenesis response.

Hi and thank you for your question! Yes, it does sound like the sensations you are feeling are not unusual post Ultherapy. Soreness, some numbness and tingling. Due to the nerve effects, some patients will notice they feel a sensation in their scalp when the touch their forehead, almost like someone is pulling on an area of the hair in the back of the scalp, just from touch on the forehead. Typically these effects fade over the course of a few weeks to a few months.  Its always preferable to touch base with your provider to let them know your symptoms especially if something worsens or seems out of the ordinary. Best, Dr. Grant Stevens

Thank you for your question! Yes, you are experiencing the usual post procedure effects. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild symptoms. Other, less common post-procedure effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas of skin. These symptoms should subside within the next few weeks. If not, you should contact your provider.
