The mentalis muscle which contributes to this appearance of the overlying skin can be weakened with Botox. Depending on the patient this can be anywhere from 5-10 units, and with repeated injections over time this will help weaken the muscle slightly.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. 5U of botox can be injected into the mentalis muscle for a nice result in some patients. There may be better ways to augment and refine your jaw line which could be determined during your consultation. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualifiedboard-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Thank you for your question. Botox can be injected into the mentalis muscle to help improve a cobblestone appearance (peau d’orange). This typically takes 4-6 units of Botox. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
There is usually a reason for why people get a dimpled look in their chin. Sometimes, it is due to the structure of your jawline and dental anatomy- especially if you find that it takes some "effort" to close your mouth (people like this tend to be more comfortable with their mouths open, at rest.) If there's a structural issue here, then even if you "relax" the chin muscles (aka mentalis) with Botox (6-10 units), that won't necessarily fix the problem! It's easy to do, but not necessarily what you need. The profile may still bother you. It would be helpful to see a photo of you smiling with your mouth open. Filler may be more helpful to build up the chin area; or a plastic surgeon may recommend a chin implant. Be well and good luck. - Estee Williams MD
Botox into the mentalis will make it smoother and improve the appearance of the skin and only takes a few units. filler into the nasolabial folds would also improve your appearance
Thanks for the question. This is what I recommend for botox units for the chin:Starting Dose: 4 units total (2 per side if 2 injection sites used) Range: 4-10 units total (2-5 per side if 2 injection sites used)
Thank you for your question and pictures. Only a small amount of Botox is needed to correct the small dimples (orange peel skin) at the chin. On average about 5-6 units of Botox. Dermal fillers are a great option to redefine the jaw line and chin. They will give beautiful and natural results. I hope this help. All the best,
I usually use 5 units in the mentalis muscle to soften the dimpling in the chin skin. I would recommend doing this first, and then consider jawline augmentation if you are still unhappy with the contour of your jawline. This could be done with fillers if you don't want to have surgery.
Thank you for your question. Botox placed into the mentalis muscle may improve the skin texture of the overlying skin in some patients. I would suggest a consultation with a physician in your area, however, 4-7 units is often appropriate for this application.
Botox can be injected into the mentalis muscle to improve a cobblestone appearance of the chin also described as a peau d'orange appearance of the chin. Anywhere from 4-6 units of Botox will give a nice result.
Thank you for your question. If you had Botox injected into your scalp it should not cause itchiness. If you had Botox injected for cosmetic reasons this would be unrelated. I recommend contacting your neurologist for an evaluation. Best of Luck!
Yes this is a type of technique used. It has no negative effect on the result. There are many studies that show this. Best, Dr. Emer.
There's not a lot of data to support this report as true. It simply needs to be studied more. However, underarm sweat can be better treated permanently with MiraDry. See my video link below. Good luck. Dr. ALDO
