I got Botox on Tuesday and I now have an itchy scalp is this normal?

Botox should not cause an itchy scalp. Side effects include muscle weakness where the Botox was injected, bruising and bleeding. Hope this helps. 

I recommend calling your neurologist.  It is unclear as to where the Botox was injected.   It may be the prep that was used prior to injection.   Best of luck to you.

I'm not sure where you had your injection. If Botox was injected into your scalp, I recommend following up with your Doctor. If the Botox was injected elsewhere, it is probably unrelated to your treatment. Keep in mind, it will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox. Dr. Emer

Thanks for your question. If your botox was injected for cosmetic reasons in your face, it would be very odd to get an itchy scalp from this. Not something that is listed in the product monograph for Botox from Allergan. See your dermatologist for a look.

There is no correlation between the scalp problem and the Botox injections. I would see a dermatologist for your scalp problems, not neurology. Botox will not cause an itchy reaction.

Thank you for your question.  Were you injected by your neurologist for migraine headaches?  If so, I would recommend following up with him/her.  In general, Botox injections, particularly Botox Cosmetic injections in the face, are not associated with itching in most patients.  Best of luck.

I don't know where the injections were placed. if in your scalp, then the prep that was used to cleanse is probably the culprit. if injected elsewhere then it is unrelated

If you are being treated for migraines it would make sense to contact your neurologist.  Cosmetic Botox injections in the face would not lead to an itchy scalp.
