Treatment for dark discoloration under lower lashes? (photo)

Question

I have discoloration under my lower lashes that looks like eye makeup that has not been washed off, at first that's what I thought it was, since I have oily skin and eye makeup does frequently smudge in this weather. At first I tried many cleansers to get rid of it However, even when I've gone days without makeup I now can see it's a permanent dark area. Is there any possible treatment for this, given that it's so close to the eye?I was told that I'm not a good candidate for under eye filler

An in person examination would be most helpful. For the little shade of discoloration just below your lashes, it is tough to tell from photographs what is going on here, but it may be cut out in a lower blepharoplasty procedure if you are considering one. You are correct that you are not a good candidate for undereye filler, if the tear trough is a concern it would be better addressed through a blepharoplasty surgery.

Eyelid discoloration is fairly common.  It may be due to extra orbital fat, that is best addressed with a blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery removing the extra fat.  At times the fat is repositioned to soften the tear trough.  Chemical peels may help with discoloration and tighten the lower lid skin.   Fillers in appropriate candidates camouflage discoloration.  Makeup helps conceal areas discoloration.

The discolorations under eyes are due to these reasons: Volume loss; the hollowness under the eyes lead to less light reaching this region, causing a dark appearance. Second is skin excess; when the excessive skin shrinks, it looks more pigmented than it is. Third reason is the genetic tendency of the skin for hyperpigmentation. So, I would recommend you to have facial fat injection for malar areas and under the eyes, with carbondioxide laser treatment, which will tighten and enlighten your lower eyelid and increase the collagen synthesis with less pigmentation.
