Spraying of Saline Water on Recipient Hair Transplanted Area. Could there be some blood clots?

Saline spraying is often recommended in the early post operative phase. Some mild oozing is not unexpected. Bleeding, however, should be addressed by your surgeon.As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) with experience in hair restoration.

When clots get dislodged a mild oozing can be expected; however if bleeding continues please bring this to your surgeon's attention. After the 1st day its hard to loose grafts. Normal spraying usually does not cause you to loose the grafts.

Congratulations on your transplant!  I would not be too concerned about a small spot of blood.  However, do make sure the saline spray is ample distance and least amount of pressure when spraying onto the grafts.  It should be almost  a mist just bathing your scalp.  With any questions Id always suggest speaking to your surgeon.

A small amount of oozing may be normal, but it's hard to tell from your description.  An issue like this shortly after surgery is best addressed with your surgeon

I generally have my patient wash their hair with soap and water using a sponge and rolling the sponge so that it does not dislodge the grafts. Bleeding is rarely a problem. If you are bleeding, go back and see your surgeon
