Can I ask for a refund for my hair transplant if I'm unhappy with my results? (Photos)

I've had 2 hair transplants from 2 different doctors. I liked my 1st hair transplant result from 3 years ago. But for my 2nd procedure, I got a very poor result (The 2nd doc is actually on RealSelf). I'm very upset that I lost $16,000 on close to what I'd say is a 15% transection rate. I tried contacting him, but he stubbornly thinks I have a good result. He hasn't replied back when I calmly asked for next steps. What can/should I do?

If your results are not consistent with what was planned it would be best to discuss your issues with your doctor.There are three scenarios.(1) You had an unrealistic goal and expectation.(2) The surgery was not successful.(3) Combination of (1) and (2)Get photos from BEFORE and AFTER your surgery and compare them with your doctor.Note it may be normal for 15% transection on some people who are not the best FUE candidates because FUE is highly variable with each person's skin/scalp/hair type.  In general, curly hair may cause higher transection.

Hello and thank you for your question.  It is difficult to see your results clearly from the photos posted, however I would highly suggest you return to your surgeon to discuss this in person.  You may also consider getting a second opinion of your results and possible options as well.

You should ask your surgeon to make it right.  A meeting with your surgeon to review the results and your expectations is a prerequisite to asking for your money back.  Ask first, why the results did not meet your expectations
