Dandruff and Itchiness in recipient area. Can I use oil on the recipient area or anti-dandruff shampoo?

transplant done 18 days ago & for the past couple of days I have been noticing dandruff and dry scalp in the recipient area & it's causing frequent itchiness as well. Doctor in the post op instruction had advised not to use any gels or oils for first 6 months. currently using the shampoo provided by doctor. wondering if: 1. I am ok to use some kind of Oil on the recipient area or would it impact the growth. 2. Also concerned about using anti-dandruff shampoo as chemicals may impact the growth.

Hi, For the itchy scalp, try an antihistamine. For the dryness and scales, try vitamin E ointment. Stay away from the anti dandruff shampoos,Dr. Robert Jones

Post op you can use baby shampoo and baby oil to help manage the itch and dandruff. After 2 weeks you could begin to use dandruff based shampoos.

At 18 days, you can use an anti-dandruff shampoo without worrying that it will cause any damage to the recipient grafts
