Does SMAS facelift have an effect on lips? Can it make them smaller?

The SMAS lift does not affect your lip volume.  You need to ask your surgeon if anything was done to your lips at the time of surgery. 

A SMAS face lift only affects the face and neck.  It should have no effect on your lips.  Check with your surgeon to make sure you did not have any other procedures.

A SMAS facelift would not normally have any effect on the lips.  I would discuss your concern with your surgeon to try and determine what might be causing your issue after your surgery.  It is possible that another procedure was done on your lips at the same time.  

 Hi, I have performed facelifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive SMAS facelifts.  You are correct that a SMAS facelift by itself would not affect or impact the lips in any manner.  You might want to ask your Facelift Surgeon what was done to your lips during the procedure especially since you see needle or puncture marks by the lips.  If you had fat injected during your facelift, this might have been used on your lips.Hope this helps.
