Why does my neck/jaw look like this 9 months after SMAS facelift? What can be done to make it better? Is this common?

I had an issue with slightly dropped upper face and lax skin. I searched for the best help I could find. The guy who operated on me is board certified. They say he is one of the best and he cost me too much for what I got. I'm sad because my concern was my upper face. My face now has gaunt asymmetrical pulled look. How can this get better? I feel my face is amputated in somehow. It feels like lacking structure. I wish to find some help and hope for the situation.

Thank you for your pictures, I am sorry to hear you are disappointment with your surgery.  It is typical to have tightness after SMAS facelift.  The muscle has been targeted therefore initially feeling tight until it becomes a little lax, therefore not looking so pulled.  The asymmetry again, is typical and normally subsides.  Please ensure that you didn't have asymmetry to start with.  If you are unhappy, please return to your surgeon as they should rectify.  All The Best

to hear about your disappointing SMAS facelift results. It is normal to have
some tightness after a lift procedure, and this tightness will generally subside
with time. The asymmetry will also usually even out with time. Judging from
your before and after photos you provided, it seems the pulled look around your
jaw should relax, as this is the natural tendency of the skin.  If you are still not happy with the look
around your jawline, I recommend you discuss this with your surgeon, as it is
his/her responsibility to make sure you are satisfied with your facelift
results, and may suggest non-surgical solutions for your concerns.
