Im 5 weeks after my breast augmentation when is it safe to sleep on my side...

Thank you for the question. At 5 weeks post op I think it is safe to say you can sleep on your side but use pillows for cushions so you don't put pressure on the Breasts.That is what I advise my patients but please check with your surgeon first. Good luck!Dr. Khuthaila

Five weeks after breast augmentation you should be able tosleep on your side without any difficulty. I would advise you to wait a fewmore weeks before sleeping on your stomach. I assume the implants were placedbehind the muscle.

Each surgeon has their own specific post operative instructions. I tell my patients they may sleep on their sides after 6 weeks. I recommend asking this question to yoru chosen surgeon.

I typically recommend that patients not sleep on their sides following breast augmentation surgery for 6 weeks to try to prevent excessive movement of the implants. After this time it is usually safe as long as everything is healing well. I would suggest asking your specific plastic surgeon, as we all have slightly different recommendations regarding this.Good Luck!

Usually at 5 weeks out from surgery, you can sleep on your side. You might try partial side sleeping first with pillows. It is always best, however, to ask your surgeon his/her opinion since he/ she has seen you and knows how you are healing.

At first, it is probably best to sleep on your back.  Lying on your side is eventually OK, but you wuold have to get clearance from your surgeon.

Thank you for your question.  Generally after a week or so my patients are cleared to sleep on their side if it's comfortable.  I recommend hugging a pillow and a pillow between your knees for good support and to help prevent you rolling onto your stomach in your sleep as this might not be very comfortable yet.
