Scar tissue causing pain and discomfort, 6 weeks after Lipoma surgery. Is this normal?

7 cm Lipoma removed 6 weeks ago. Located below my ribs and above hip. Felt great until about 2 weeks ago. Very uncomfortable especially when sitting. Surgeon says it is scar tissue. Basically said if it is still painful in a few months to come back.
