Bump on my right eyelid occurred 1.5 years back and initially it was itching (like usual boil with pus in it) but after that it just became a part of my eyelid without healing. I want this to be gone asap. I don't want to spend much money on this. Please help. Photo attached.
Answer: Bump on eyelid You appears to have some type of growth there, and in my experience these are usually cysts. We remove them in our office for patients under local anesthesia in most cases. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: How to remove bump on eyelid? In my opinion, the mass on your upper eyelid would need to be removed surgically. This procedure could potentially be done in the office with just local anesthesia. I would consult with a facial plastic surgeon, plastic surgeon, or oculoplastic surgeon.

Answer: Cyst of Left Upper Eyelid The bump on your left upper eyelid most likely represents a cyst which has formed after a resolved chalazion (stye) of the eyelid. If its been more than 1.5 years it is unlikely to go away on its own. It is not likely harmful to you in any way and thus medical insurance would deem this a cosmetic procedure. Please seek out a specialist who has experience removing these growths -- you need a specific kind of doctor with expertise in this area.Be realistic that if this has been present for 18 months as you mentioned, it will not just vanish after such a procedure - but a short time after it should be looking very much improved. Costs will depend entirely on the provider you see -- but i strongly recommend you see a board-certified, fellowship trained MD Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon with expertise in removal of challenging eyelid growths or cysts -- doctors who only do this procedure every so often are probably not the best choice. Good luck.

Answer: Bump on eye It appears from your photo that it is a benign growth known as a chalazion, which can be removed surgically by an ophthamologist or a plastic surgeon. They are fairly common and are a result of an obstructed gland of the eyelid. Because you have had it so long, it is unlikely that it will disappear on its own... Though not an emergent situation, you are best having it removed... Good Luck Armand Simone, MD FACS New York, NY Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
