I had my 3rd eyelid surgery in 4 years 3 weeks ago. The ASOPRS surgeon said he could lift the eye more and give me a crease with the external levator surgery. 3 weeks after surgery I regret having it as my eyelid height is lower than ever before and my crease also looks too low making it all worse. He said he could fix it (again) as he needs to leave it in a way over corrected position but now I’m afraid to touch it again and make it even worse.

Answer: Lid fold asymmetry
Joseph Walrath, MDOculoplastic Surgeon, Board Certified in Ophthalmology
Hi Heysiania,
With any procedure, there are some rare yet serious risks. Although infection is generally rare with eyelid surgery, there is always a small chance with any surgery. From the pictures you uploaded, there are signs suggestion of infection and you should contact your plastic ...
Its very common for one side to heal more quickly than the other. It can be related to bruising and how one sleeps at night. This should improve over the next few months. If the asymmetry persists you may need a touch up but it won’t be a big deal. Best of luck!
You have a complex case that needs personal evaluation. Best to wait at least 3 months after last surgery before considering additional possible surgery.
