You can use PRP anywhere. Adding a thin HA filler in small amounts (Restylane Refyne), and layering PRP on top of it works well and lasts longer. PRP is safe and lends itself to beautiful results if done right. Hope this helps. JB See our Instagram at smooth_solutions for pictures.
Hi @Bostongirl2019! This was an excellent question. Unfortunately, PRP does not add volume to the face. However, it work well for hyperpigmentation, dark circles, bags, and collagen formation. To add volume, you would need to use dermal fillers.
No, prp is not designed for volume enhancement. For volume correction, you would need to use traditional HA based fillers. See an expert to go over your options. Best, Dr. Emer.
PRP as a filler differs from traditional HA's. While initially it will add volume, this quickly dissipates. Residual growth factors can improve fine lines and textural issues. However, for long term volumization or lift, HA fillers remain the gold standard. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).Donovan Rosas MDBoard Certified by the American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember: American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery, American Society of Plastic SurgeonsRealSelf Verified MemberRealSelf Top 100RealSelfHall of Fame
PRP can give some volume to the tear trough. It can improve pigmentation in the infraorbital area. When injected into the cheeks or applied with microneedling or laser, wrinkles and texture will improve. It does not have the same lifting potential as a filler.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADRealself Verified All-star
Hi--Thanks for your question. If done properly, HA fillers should not cause the Tyndall effect, although this is still always a risk. Volbella can be used off-label in the tear trough and can be placed superficially in the skin to minimize this issue. PRP can be used for facial skin rejuvenation but won't directly and immediately add volume to the face/
Thanks for your question. I’ve had great success using PRP to in some cases with a single treatment permanently fill in the under eye trough in a way that looks much more natural than any filler. The coloration is improved instead of disfigured as you point out that fillers have the capacity to create a bluish bump if not injected properly. The most important part that makes my approach effective, and rarest thing to find in the aesthetic industry, is to use a properly concentrated PRP solution. Most aesthetic practices use a test tube to spin a small amount of blood and call that PRP, but there is nothing Rich about being concentrated 1-5-2x baseline. 5-7x concentration is necessary to stimulate collagen regeneration as well as pre adipocytes in the subcutaneous area to mature and act as a natural filler.
PRP gives a temporary filler effect but that dissipates quickly after it is given and is often gone in a few days. If you want a long term effect, have your doctor use traditional fillers
Microneedling is enhanced greatly with stem cells or PRP. Stem cells treatments are superior to PRP due to a higher magnitude of growth factors. The number of treatments to achieve outstanding results depends on what concern is being treated. For instance acne scars, large pores, fine li...
Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong...
Yes PRP has to be activated. Trauma is the main activator, so lasers or micro needling work well, as do radiofrequency treatments. If you are doing a P-Shot or an O-Shot for sexual wellness then you can activate the PRP with calcium chloride. PRP is a great way to build up collagen and elastin...
