Is it better for me to have mild or aggressive CO2 laser treatment on my face? (Photo)

I am confused about whether it is better for me to have mild CO2 laser treatment where the downtime is about 3-4 days or aggressive treatment where the downtime is about 4-7 days. What would be the ideal settings of the CO2 laser treatment regarding the acne scars I have on my cheek area?

Acne scars will likely require multiple fractional co2 laser treatments. I would combine the fractional co2 laser with ematrix treatments to improve your acne scars. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian

For acne scars, I always suggest 3-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. Whether its better to have a more aggressive treatment vs a milder treatment depends on how much downtime you prefer to take. If you get the more aggressive treatment, then you will need fewer treatments to get a big improvement, however, you will require more time out to recover.

In my opinion, You would not need the traditional non fractionated co2. I believe you would benefit from some scar modification prior to a laser.Tca cross and subscision would lift your scars.After that, a fractionated ablative or non ablative or combination would help.Ask to see before and after pictures from your surgeon.Good luck!
