I had a closed septo/rhinoplasty 12 days ago with a bump reduction. My surgeon removed the cast 6 days post-op and applied tape. He then removed the tape 10 days post-op and told me to re apply it the second day, which i did. But now a day after re-taping my nose I felt a slight pressure so I decided to remove the tape and realized that it had left marks on my bridge because it was applied to tightly. Will this cause my bridge to a have a permanent dent? How moldable is my nose at this stage?

Answer: Tape following rhinoplasty Thanks for your question. We commonly use tape following a rhinoplasty to help the skin to stick down to the underlying new nasal framework. This helps to prevent fluid collections and limit swelling. Probably the line you see is just related to some swelling and nothing more. It would be hard for you to affect your result with tape. If there's any question, feel free to check in with your surgeon, but I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck!

Answer: Postoperative Recommendations Thank you for your question. I did not see a posted photo, so it's difficult to say exactly what is going on. In general, the skin and soft tissue on the nose is very swollen after surgery. Splinting and taping are used to reduce the initial soft tissue swelling and provide support to the nasal bones and cartilages after surgery. I recommend that you seek advise from your physician and have your nose examined. Typically, I would expect everything to heal just fine once the tape is removed and you continue to recover. Hope this response helps.
