How long (years) can resin veneers look good (before staining is a problem) if you drink coffee, tea and red wine?

I am looking for a temporary solution to 4 of my front teeth while I save for porcelain veneers. I am hoping to make it for 2-3 yrs. Right now I have a couple of fillings (I believe are bonding) that have yellowed (over many years), so it doesn't look great, although not too bad. However, I will need 2-3 (maybe 4) years to save for porcelain. I only drink red wine on the weekend. I do have coffee every day. Can I make it about 3 yrs with resin veneers without them staining too badly?

Hi, thank you for your question. The length of time resin veneers will look good depends on they type of material your dentist uses. If you currently have fillings that are discolored, I would recommend whitening your teeth and changing the filings to a better color. If your plan is to save for porcelain, I wouldn't waste money on resin veneers..

Hi:It’s difficult to say exactly how long before you can notice staining on the resin veneer.  However, you can control the staining with drinking your coffee thru a vented lid.Best,Dr. Maddahi
