If I get liposuction on my thighs will it make my butt look bigger also would it affect the size of my Butt I don’t wanna lose the size of my butt ..also is it away to Lipo my calves at the same time as my thighs my legs are to big even when losing weight they never lose weight I am tired of them rubbing together and getting sores between them when I walk please help me because even though I would live to Lipo them I don’t wanna effect the size of my butt

Hello and thank you for your question! Liposuction is a highly targeted procedure that only removes fat in the specifically treated area, so having it done on your thighs should not affect the size of your buttocks. Additionally, many patients do find that shaping the area around the buttocks with liposuction does make the butt appear larger by accentuating it. It is possible to have liposuction performed on the calves, but it is not very common and is not an option for everyone. You will need to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who regularly performs liposuction and body sculpting to learn more. Good luck to you!

Liposuction targets a specific treatment area, so if you want only your thighs reduced, that should be very easy to do. Thinning your thighs can also change the body proportions so your butt looks bigger in relation to your legs. Liposuction can also be used to reduce the calves in the right patient. Thank you for your question.  Thigh and gluteal regions are different anatomical regions and so when we liposuction the thighs, the butt is not touched. If we slim the thighs, whether the inner or outer aspect, the butt area will be more defined and therefore will appear to be enhanced.  If your thighs are really big however, sometimes liposuction is not the right option and may need a thigh lift which involves removing extra skin.  Calf sometimes can be liposuctioned if there is significant fat.  Please have a thorough examination by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.

Liposuction of the thighs will reduce the fat in the thighs narrowing the thigh circumference and enhancing thigh contour.  Patients rarely complain that the butt has appears "enlarged"  unless massive weight gained postop.  In appropriate candidates, calves may undergo liposuction at the same time.

I do not feel that liposuction of the thighs makes the buttock look bigger but it does make the body look more in proportion and more contoured.
You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

In my experience liposuction of the back can often make the butt appear larger by increasing the depth of the curve of the lower back.  Liposuction of the thighs can occasionally have the same effect on the appearance of the butt. Remember that it is an illusion, the butt is still the same size.

kat0404 I appreciate your concern, and liposuction should not affect the size of your butt. In fact liposuction adeptly performed on the lower back, flanks and lower posterior and outer thighs may actually make your butt appear larger!
