Can I Do Liposuction Even Though I Have Lupus?

The decision to proceed with liposuction in the patient with lupus is at the discretion of the surgeon and the immunologist.

 Thank you for the question and pictures. Well-controlled rheumatologic disease should not be a contraindication to liposuction surgery in most cases. Run this question by your rheumatologist;  it will be helpful to your plastic surgeon to have “clearance” prior to proceeding.

You very well may be able to have liposuction if you have lupus. But you need to get medical clearance, and it's possible it may need to be done under local or spinal anesthesia.
