This is a great question. Blood type (either ABO or Rh factor) shouldn't affect your ability to undergo a routine plastic surgery procedure such as liposuction or a tummy tuck. Blood type is important in matching donor blood for a transfusion, and most major hospitals should have all blood types available should the need for a transfusion arise. However, requiring a transfusion from one these types of procedures is rare, since the blood loss during surgery is usually very low. Best of luckKeith Blechman, MD
For these operations we do not type and crossmatch patients for blood transfusion, ever. There is no reason whatsoever that your blood type would affect your candidacy for these surgeries.
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, it's possible to have a tummy tuck and liposuction if your blood type is RH negative. As with any surgical procedure, discuss all of your medical history with your surgeon preoperatively.
your blood type have no influence on your tummy tuck surgery and it is not a factor for complications but if you have anemia and your doctor thinks that you will need a blood transfusion in case of anemia that info is very important. Best Wishes!
It would be extremely rare for anyone to need a blood transfusion with a tummy tuck (with or without lipo). Your blood type should not matter then. If you are worried about it, a preoperative blood count should let you and your doctor know whether you are anemic and whether any special precautions need to be taken. Best of luck. Below is a fully healed tummy tuck.
Your blood type is irrelevant to the surgery you are thinking about. Usually, I test to see what your blood count is, and as long as it is normal, it is extremely rare that you might need a transfusion. Even if you do, there are people with the same type as you and blood could be found for you. But again, it is extremely rare you would need a transfusion.
This should have no impact on elective surgery.Contact an experience board-certified plastic surgeon to see what your options are. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
Having RH negative blood type has no impact on your undergoing any cosmetic surgery procedure to include tummy tuck.
Rh type does not influence or impact a TT. This is most important during pregnancy. It is extremely uncommon to need a blood transfusion following a TT, and in the rare event that this would be necessary you should still be able to avail of a blood transfusion. Good luck!
Although Rh factor blood type is important in pregnancy, your Rh factor type will not have any adverse affect with a tummy tuck surgery. Check with your primary physician to make certain you are otherwise in good health but you don't have to worry about your Rh type. Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
The first garment should be fitted for you in the office prior to surgery and applied in the operating room. Often it will become loose as the edema is mobilized, and then it will need to be replaced. Spanx is a reasonable compression garment if it gives enough support and is the right size. I...
This is a difficult correction and depends on the anatomy of what's left. If the belly button stalk is long enough, it may be possible to shorten the stalk which will narrow the width and pull in the belly button. However, there's no guarantee this would work. From your photos, it does not...
