Does Kybella also work for the hands/fingers? (Photo)

Kybella was approved by the FDA to treat submental fat accumulation.Off label it can be used to treat fat accumulation elsewhere in the body.

Hi there, fellow fat-finger! Kybella can be used off-label by an experienced provider in almost any pocket of fat. Care needs to be taken around nerves and blood vessels, but in theory it should work just fine in the subcutaneous fat of tapered fingers.

Kybella is not indicated for the hands, and I would not recommend this. We see a large amount of patients who are concerned with volume loss in the hands due to the natural process of aging, and speeding up the reduction of fat in this area would increase this. Loss of fat in the hands can cause a bony, gaunt, wrinkled look, with greater visualization of vessels. All of these factors cause the hands to look older. Good luck. Sarah RN BSN
