When should I do my Second Jawline Botox Treatment?

If you had Botox to slim your face and contour your jawline, there are a few factors that determine when to get the next dose.  I usually recommend anywhere from 25-50 units of Botox per side of the masseter.  My patients usually come back around 6 months later for their second dose.  You may have had fewer units, if you are not seeing the response you are looking for.  I would suggest talking to your doctor and finding out how much you had.

Sometimes it takes 1-3 months to see the muscles of the jaw atrophy.  You can schedule another session 3 months from your last visit.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  In general Botox treatment into the masseter muscles does take several weeks to show a slimming effect.  As opposed to wrinkles where paralysis of the muscle starts within 3-5 days of treatment, atrophy of the masseters takes longer.  I would allow at least 4-6 weeks to pass before considering additional treatment.  Most masseter injections require 20-50 units per side.  Hope this helps.

Jawline botox can take several treatments over a years time to see the results.  You need to go back for routine injections every 4 months or so.
