What if I swallowed Botox?

Hello Natey.If you did you should call poison control. Botox is not readily available outside doctor's office and is a biohazard and dangerous to handle if it came from a lab. The live bacteria which produce the toxin are dangerous.Good luck, Dr. ALDO :)

Hi There Thank you for your question. Frivolous because you cannot have possibly swallowed botox. The interesting thing is however what is the toxic dose to humans? The answer is a lot. You would have to simultaneously swallow many many bottles for there to even be a chance of an effect on your body. Obviously botulism  (a deadly disease caused by eating dodgy cans of tuna infected with Clostridium botulinum ) is an altogether different proposition as the ingested dose is far far higher than you would get from a bottle of Botox.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics

facial expression. It is designed to be injected, not ingested. It is not known what the possible effects of ingested Botox are. If I had a patient who swallowed Botox and was having symptoms I would recommend that she visit a local emergency room. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

You should always call your healthcare provider if you believe that you ingested poisonous material. If it is a concern, posting on a forum is not recommended. That being said, ingesting small amounts of botox should be fine. You will be OK. Chase Lay, MD
