Hi. I think I am going to get the small or medium one, and both of them got a projection of 0,65 cm. That does not sound much? Can you even see any differense? When I look at 0,65 cm on a measuring tape it so little! Also I think my surgeon are going to carve it so it does not get to wide. I want the implant to give me a pointy look. Is the curvilinear implant a good option?
Answer: Candidate for a chin augmentation? Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation #weakchin #chinimplant

Answer: Does a curvilinear chin implant from Implantech give a significant projection? In our practice, we have used Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants for over 26 years with an excellent success rate. Most of the implants that we use in our practice are size small and medium Mittleman pre-jowl chin implants. They can be custom carved when necessary to match patient's unique anatomy. Both the size and the shape of the implant are very important, so that must be determined at the time of the consultation and examination, since both the chin and the implants are 3-dimensional structures. Chin augmentation occurs in all 3 dimensions. The implants are usually placed through a small incision underneath the chin under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. For many examples of chin implants and diagrams of the chin implants themselves, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Female Chin Implant Whether a 6.5mm central thick projecting chin implant is enough or inadequate for your chin augmentation needs depends on your aesthetic goals. Without computer imaging of your pictures it would be impossible to say. Aa a general statement comparing linear measurements on the outside usually underestimates the impact that the whole implant has when placed on the inside.

Answer: Curvilinear chin implant from implantech give a significant projection? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face look short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone). I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. There are numerous shapes and sizes of silastic chin implants, some of which are rather old shapes that do not yield the desired "natural" aesthetic results. The Curvilinear shape is an example that is similar to the old "button" implants (had no wings or lateral tapering elements of the newer EAC design) that created a "pharaoh" shaped chin. The EAC or extended anatomical chin implant style offers, in my experience and humble opinion, the most natural, aesthetic result when augmenting the chin. The EAC in a size small is the most common implant that I use in women ( size medium in men ). Proper placement and the appropriate approach (placing the incision under the chin and not inside the mouth) are also key in obtaining the best aesthetic result. I believe the projections are 4.5 mm and 5 mm respectively. A 6.5 mm projection would result in quite a large forward projection to the chin making it very masculine and unbalanced. That would be equivalent to something in-between a size Large and Extra Large EAC. That degree of augmentation is most likely too great in my humble opinion. Hope this helps.
